For the past 8 years, we’ve helped over 600 rescued dogs find homes in the U.S., mainly in California. As mentioned, we’re a small team of 5 girls devoting our personal time outside of our primary occupations in an effort to save previous lives. Our goal is to dissuade individuals from buying from breeders, given the countless dogs awaiting permanent homes. That said, consider us as a last resort for adoption; local shelters are brimming with wonderful dogs needing love and care. Adopt through us if you can’t find a dog of your choice at your local shelter.
The majority of dogs we rescue in Korea are from the dog meat trade, illegal puppy mills, and/or high-kill shelters. Some of us met 8 years ago as staff volunteers for one of the large rescue organizations in Korea called, @youumbba.
We were in charge of all rescues and adoption (both domestic and overseas). We designed the overseas adoption program, giving the opportunity for overseas adopters to adopt precious lives saved from Korea. After two years of volunteering for Youumbba, we decided to leave the rescue organization as the president was more focused on branding rather than rescuing dogs. 4 years later, original staff volunteers joined again. With all of our experiences combined, we’re stronger than ever.

We're currently awaiting approval for our 501(c)(3) status in California. Our primary mission is to aid dogs in both Southern California and the Republic of Korea, stemming from our initial focus on rescuing dogs in Korea. Occasionally, we seek donations when funds run low for dogs requiring urgent medical care. Often, we contribute from our own pockets. Whenever we fundraise, we ensure to post all receipts, invoices, and PayPal transactions, as we value transparency.
We will make a formal announcement once our 501(c)(3) is ready. Meanwhile, if you’d like to contribute towards our mission, you can send it to one of our staff volunteer’s PayPal. We post every transaction on our Updates page.
Thank you deeply for taking the time to understand our mission. Together, we can make a difference and save lives. For the latest updates, please don’t forget to check out our LATEST UPDATE page. Once again, thank you.
Joey & Bailey Foundation’s reputation relies on honesty, integrity, and transparency. We aspire to become and remain a trusted rescue organization for overseas adoption. In the past, we collaborated with a diverse range of rescue organizations, both large and small, in the U.S. and Korea. Over time, however, we recognized differences in our objectives and philosophies. As a result, we've made the conscious decision to discontinue partnerships with several of these organizations. It's vital for us to work alongside groups that align with our core beliefs and mission, ensuring that every effort is consistent and serves the best interests of the animals we aim to protect and support.
