FOUNDER

Hello, my name is Hannah K., Founder of Joey & Bailey Foundation. I’m just a person who has a passion for all animals, especially dogs. I’m not someone who wants publicity – I’m an entrepreneur who is busy operating my business in Los Angeles, CA. I simply want to help the dogs in high kill shelters, illegal puppy mills, and slaughterhouses in the Republic of Korea.

Typical slaughter houses in Korea sells dogs along with chickens.

Through this journey, I had an opportunity to meet wonderful dog rescuers, volunteers and activists in Korea and the U.S. Presently, I volunteer my personal time as an adoption coordinator for individual rescuers and Rescue Organizations located in Seoul, Korea.

DOG MEAT TRADE

I saw a horrific video a few weeks ago and I still have trouble sleeping. The video was entitled “The Last Walk,” in which the dog butcher walks the dog to his ultimate destination where he’s hung from the ceiling.

I couldn’t stop looking into that dog’s eyes as he was pleading for help. It’s believed that torturing the dogs before slaughtering them improves the flavor of the meat and provides health benefits.

The dogs are tortured in various ways, from being burned or boiled alive to being nail gunned to a wall and left to suffer, sometimes up to 40 hours.  South Korea has virtually no animal protection laws and the situation isn’t getting enough media attention.

There are so many previous lives being lost due to human consumption in Republic of Korea. Every month, thousands of dogs are being tortured and slaughtered. These dogs have same feelings as us humans. They can also feel the same pain as we do. We are fully aware this will be a long process to fight against dog meat trade in Korea.

Please join us on a fight against dog meat trade. There are many ways you can contribute. Please spread the words about existing dog meat trade in Republic of Korea. I thank you in advanced for reading this and hope that you will join us in fight against dog meat trade.

Sincerely,

Hannah K.
