Thank you for your interest in adopting rescued dogs from high kill shelters, the dog meat trade, and illegal puppy mills in the Republic of Korea. We are dedicated to making sure each dog's placement will be a forever home. We highly emphasize to potential adopters that all these dogs come with certain behaviors and needs. Most rescued dogs have had hard lives in the past and some may need special needs. We truly care about finding them their new forever home. We highly encourage you to check with your local shelters and/or rescue organizations and think of us as your last option.

BEFORE YOU PROCEED WITH THE ADOPTION APPLICATION, PLEASE READ OUR FAQS PAGE FIRST.

Please complete the following application as accurately as possible. If your adoption application is incomplete, we will automatically delete your application. You must be 25 years old or older and a resident of California to be considered an adopter from Joey & Bailey Foundation. If we can’t validate your identity, we may ask you to submit a copy of your identification once your adoption application is approved. Once we verify the applicant, we securely delete your submitted identification information. As our rescued dogs are trusting us with their lives, please be advised that we screen-check every applicant.

Once you submit the adoption application, we will only contact you if your application was approved within 3-5 business days via email. Please be sure to check your email. Due to the high volume of adoption applications received daily, we will only contact those who qualify as overseas adopters. If you have not heard from us in 3 weeks or more, it means that we’ve found a stronger applicant and we will securely delete your adoption application. I understand this is an application for adoption for canines from Republic of Korea. We, the independent rescuers, rescue canines from above-mentioned places such as slaughter houses, dog meat farm, puppy mill, and high kill shelters in Republic of Korea and it reserves the right to approve or decline this application based on the needs of a particular dog in Republic of Korea.

Dog I adopt will reside in my primary residence as a pet and will provide adopted dog adequate food, water, shelter, training, and medical care.

I understand Joey & Bailey Foundation is representing city operated shelters, individual rescuers and rescue organizations in Korea, will solely act as a placement service volunteer and is not responsible for the accuracy of information receiving about dog's temperament, habits, or any type of physical condition of the dog available for adoption. I give permission to Joey & Bailey to check on my household periodically by either emailing, calling, checking on my social media accounts and/or visiting my primary residence. I will be fully responsible of adopted dog.

ANIMAL PROTECTION ACT

Animal Protection Act in Republic of Korea

Article 7: Prohibition of Animal Abuse 1. Killing with a proper reason as set by the ordinance of the Ministry of Agriculture of Republic of Korea, it shall not. 2. No one shall abuse animals. 3. Owners shall not induce animals. Article 8: Per Amended Animal Protection Act, the sentence is punishable by imprisonment for up to one (1) year or up to 10 Million Won, in the act of animal abuse. Article 25: Any person who has committed a violation under Article 7 shall be fined up to 5 Million Won. Article 26: Person who have not attached the identification mark, have not taken safety measures, or any person who does not properly take care of animals shall be subject to a fine no more than 500,000 Won.

Animal Protection Act in The United States of America

CALIFORNIA PENAL CODE SECTION 597t Every person who keeps an animal confined in an enclosed area shall provide it with an adequate exercise area. If the animal is restricted by a leash, rope, or chain, the leash, rope, or chain shall be affixed in such a manner that it will prevent the animal from becoming entangled or injured and permit the animal’s access to adequate shelter, food, and water. Violation of this section constitutes a misdemeanor. This section shall not apply to an animal which is in transit, in a vehicle, or in the immediate control of a person. (Amended by Stats. 1971, Ch. 243.) Animal Protection Act in The United States of America. Each state in the United States has enacted statutes to punish individuals who engage in animal cruelty.
