PET TRAVEL
HOW WILL MY PET TRAVEL TO THE STATES?
As mentioned in the ADOPTION PROCESS section, our adoption fee is $350. However, it will be your responsibility as an adopter to take care of the pet transportation fees. To help our adopters keep the pet travel fees lowest possible, we depend on regular-ticketed passengers who are willing to travel together with our rescued dog(s). These are regular-ticketed passengers who are willing to volunteer by traveling together with your newly adopted pet.
Your adopted pet will be under the temporary care of our flight volunteers who are willing to wait in long lines in a quarantine office in Korea and customs here in the U.S. just for the sake of your recently adopted dog. Our flight volunteers are regular-ticketed passengers volunteering to become your newly adopted pet’s flight nanny.
However, due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19 and the U.S. being the epicenter of this pandemic, many ticketed passengers (flight volunteers) are either canceling or postponing their trips to the states. In the event we cannot find a flight volunteer to bring your dog then you will have the option to bring your dog via cargo. Fees for the cargo cost more than traveling with the flight volunteer.
Flight volunteers (ticketed passengers) are allowed to travel together with two (2) pets. In the event, the passenger only brings your dog, you will be responsible for the full custom broker fee of $300.
WILL YOU PREPARE ALL THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR MY PET’S TRAVEL?
Absolutely. We will prepare all documents necessary for your newly adopted pet’s travel. Your pet will arrive with the following documents:
Veterinary Certificate in Korean
Live Dog Import Health & Rabies Certificate (APHIS Form 7041)
Certificate of Veterinary Inspection & Rabies Certification
Import Permit for Dogs (Issued by The United States Department of Agriculture - APHIS (Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service)

We will also provide you with an instruction guide on what to do on the day of arrival. Our staff volunteers are available to assist our adopters 24/7 since we’re night owls.
HOW WILL I KNOW WHO OUR FLIGHT VOLUNTEER IS?
1-2 days prior to your newly adopted pet’s travel, we connect you directly to the flight volunteer. This way you will know what she/he will look like. You will be notified when your adopted pet arrives at the Incheon International Airport. We provide you with real-time photos and videos on the day of the departure.
CAN WE FIND OUR OWN CUSTOM BROKER COMPANY?
Absolutely. At Joey & Bailey Foundation, we’re all about transparency. Please feel free to shop around for the best pricing. However, we’re very confident you cannot beat the pricing our custom broker company charges, as our group receives a volume discount.
